Join the dark side…by purchasing a Samsung Galaxy S.

Are you on the Dark Side? Do you want to become “home dawgs” with Darth Vader? Well according to the Japanese commercial above, all you need to do is purchase a Samsung Galaxy S phone on NTT DoCoMo and you can start chillin with The Vader! My only question is…will you be able to use the force after buying one?

On a serious note, I do personally own a Samsung Galaxy S (it’s no longer my daily driver, but I had one for a good few months). I must say that it was definitely an excellent purchase for a geek. It is an incredibly pretty phone, and hardware wise it is advanced in comparison to its competition. The only problems I had with the phone were software based. If you’re a geek though, you can go ahead and root your phone, most of those problems will go away if you flash the correct patches/roms. If you don’t want to void the warranty on your phone, I would probably become comfortable with a good amount of lag and bugs because Samsung is known for taking a LONG time to release updates (for example, the Galaxy S series are among the most high end android phones yet they still haven’t received their Froyo update).
