Yes Kal-El, unfortunately times have changed! This is the second time where modern technology has outed you (click me to see the first time).
Well the main reason why I posted that hysterical image was because a few weeks ago I tweeted about how we need a (good) Superman reboot (I like to pretend that Superman Returns never happened). Personally I feel if Batman is capable of becoming cool, then Superman can too! Little did I know that apparently there is a Superman Reboot coming out in 2012, entitled “Man of Steel” (imdb).
AWESOME NEWS RIGHT?!?!? Wrong. I looked through some of the details of the film, and I have a few questions:
- How the hell can this be a Superman movie if Lex Luthor isn’t casted?
- Why is Clark Kent only 28 years old?
- Why is Lois Lane a ginger?
- Why is Martha Kent only 46 years old?
I’m done asking questions, but the list goes on. Now I could just be a fan boy… but whoever was responsible for casting in this movie did a terrible job (well i have to admit, Russell Crowe as Jor-El and Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent are great picks).
This is super early speculation btw, the movie hasn’t even began filming yet, for all I know things could change.
Also keep in mind, this movie involves Zack Snyder, Christopher Nolan, and David S. Goyer. So you should see a lot of similarities between the new Batman franchise and this Superman project (so pretty much they’ll be nothing like the comic books, and the general public will love the film whether it’s actually good or not). Judging by their past work though, I’m sure they’ll be adding some “edge” to Superman though (which is necessary, his suit looks ridiculous haha).
