Say Hello to the Nexus S! (Hands on/pics)

The Nexus S has been a rumored device for quite some time now. In fact after the Nexus One, Google has hinted at the fact that they weren’t going to make another Nexus device. Obviously with this image here we know this isn’t true. Now Samsung being the manufacturer will bring some controversy since they have been slightly unreliable with the past few devices (Galaxy S series, behold, etc). Now remember, the only reason why they are considered to be unreliable is because of their software, they are incredibly bad when it comes to releasing software updates on time and issues with their own software causing lag (such as media hub). Although that is the case with their other phones, this WILL NOT, be the case with the Nexus S, why you may ask? Well because with the Nexus S, Google will be controlling the software rather than Samsung, so we’ll have pure vanilla android and Google giving us updates, similar to the Nexus one.

Judging by the pictures posted above and below, it appears that the device looks very similar to the Epic 4G (with the non-visible capacitive buttons) just without the keyboard. This phone according to the source listed below will also be running Google Android 2.3 “Gingerbread”. Since there is a camera on the front of Google’s flagship device, I’m going to assume that Gingerbread is going to have a few video calling features (just a hunch, we’ll see once the device actually ships).

I’ll do my best to get my hands on Nexus S this holiday season, I’m super excited to use it.
