The future is here! Sony recently unveiled their latest product which is (and I’m not joking) a hologram! This Ray Modeler 360-degree autostereoscopic display prototype is essentially a real hologram machine. Apparently this prototype will display full 3D images without the need of 3D glasses. The display shows 360 degrees of unique images creating this amazing effect. The system displaying the images is only 13cm in diameter and 27cm in height, making it incredibly compact and images produced by this machine can be controlled with your hands with gestures.

After checking out the video above (which you should do as well) I started thinking about the future of this kind of technology. Off the top of my head I can’t think of many uses for technology like this since so much equipment is required just to add content to this display.
