Sony Rollable Display

As time passes screens have been getting thinner and thinner. Everyone has always dreamed of it getting to the point where you can just roll up a screen and move it with ease. Well this day has finally come! Sony recently sent out a preview of their new rollable screen technology. The display they were using was a 4.1 inch screen with a resolution of 432 px by 240 px which is about the same resolution as most modern cell phones. To make this screen Sony developed new organic thin film transistors which cuts out the need for large chips and case holdings in modern screens which prevent them from being rolled. According to Sony right now there are no plans of including it in any products for the near future but I can see a day where most of our handhelds start using technology like this, one thing that really came to mind when looking at this is the future of the Sony PSP, this could take the PSP Go (their new slide portable) to a new level of compact design. I went ahead and embed a video explaining this further and it shows us the same video that Sony released not too long ago.
